With her old primary shoes beaten down and almost dead, these now are worn all the time. The old pair is so rotten and nasty that she won't wear them in public anymore. While on vacation in California a friend asks us to help clean their moms apartment. The place hadnt been cleaned in a long time and pets had royally soiled the carpets. These shoes were worn for that nasty job. She'd only packed a pair of flats, sandals, and these shoes.

Still in California the next day... she was walking around barefoot all morning. Went outside numerous times. Out for a smoke. Another time down to the hotel office. Her feet were quite dirty so then came time to go out and meet friends for lunch. She got dressed and I then noticed what shoes she was about to put on. I reminded her that her feet were filthy and that she should probably wear sandals instead. She said she wasn't in the mood for sandals.
