Stiletto heels and platform heels

Is it me, or are there less heels around? Women going to Night clubs seem to wear short outfits and trainers. Looking at the high street retailers like new look, their designs seem to be less extreme and headed towards boring.

Is this a permanent thing? Do women think that to look smart they no longer need to endure a night of pain? Or is it a fashion thing? Maybe it's some sort of weird thing that happened because of COVID.

If it's a fashion thing I hope it comes back again quickly.

What are the thoughts of the collective?

Unfortunately not a new thing, you already can see that even the community here transforms more and more to sneakerslovers. But I have hope, someday the turnover will come, like so many times in fashion world and the women will wear elegant feminine clothes and high heels again!

It's such a shame going out where I live. The girls are all smart when they go to clubs but they all wear vans! 20 years ago the men would not be allowed in wearing trainers. Things change. Heels will come back soon, I am sure of it.

Oh yeah, remember about 2010, every girl had to wear high heels at the club, today even at weddings or business meetings women wear sneakers :-(

2008. The year every celebrity wore massive heels.

And this

Some reports claim she was wearing 7 and even 8 inch heels. I doubt that but if anyone has any pics, please post them.

It's all to do with that poxy "Me Too" movement thing.
That seems to have killed off nice heels.

I don't think that this was the start but it definetly made feminism and a-sexual fashion much more popular....

It's such a shame but they say what goes around, comes around. Let's hope it's comes around quickly.

Doing a bit of reading about this, they are a predicting a surge in kitten heels, I guess that's going to be the must have for the Christmas party this year. A stiletto with no height.
